Hello there everyone, Just something I'd like to share with any VCP paddlers out there... I paddle a VCP Pintail. This boat has an adjustable skeg which is controlled with a cable running inside the boat to a slider forward of the cockpit. My problem has been that the rear compartment always had some water in it at the end of a days paddling. Talking to my supplier (Knoydart in the Lake District, UK) - they suggested rotating the metal sleeve where the cable and fibreglass meet just above the skeg box inside the rear hatch. This did not fix the problem! BTW - my wife has an identical boat and it has never leaked at all. Before paddling this weekend I used self-amalgamating tape (the stuff you stretch and it sticks to itself), to cover up the gap between the metal sleeve and the cable - result - bone dry compartment, so airtight the flexible hatch lid was concave at the end of the day. No more wet belongings!
