After 10 days of agonizing over the choice between a double or a single, I finally made a decision. It helped knowing from comments on PW that I would probably be happy with either kayak. Dancing in a double sounds very appealing, and many couples wrote to say that tandem paddling is something that definitely enriches their relationships. But it takes two to Tango, and it's become increasingly clear that kayaking will be a hobby I pursue mostly on my own. Once that was clear in my (our) mind, I decided simply to get the smaller boat, since fewer bags and lighter weight will make it much handier to carry and set up on my own. Last night I made a 50% down payment on the Klepper Aerius I, and actually took half of the boat home with me on the train. Guess there aren't a lot of boats where you can do that. :-) Thanks for all the support and encouragement, especially to those who took time to write me personally.
