I recently saw pictures of a towing problem created by surge and large
waves... the tow was clipped onto the towee's deck lines.  Three of the
fittings were torn out (a Romany Explorer) or broken off making a bad
situation worse.  

I would think it important to regularly inspect the toggle lines and use the
bow toggle for the point of attachment rather than a deck line.
