If anyone has been thinking about the Paddlesport show (Friday March
31-Sunday, April 2) in Somerset New Jersey and has been hesitant because
they don't have wheels, you can get there by train from the city. Not
too expensively.

Take the NJ Transit train, Northeast Corridor branch to New Brunswick
(RT is $11.50). Then take a cab to the Garden State Exhibit Center or
the Double Tree Hotel (both on same grounds) which is supposed to be
about $10-15 each way. From Penn Station the whole travel time to the
show shouldn't be more than an hour and a quarter or so. Entry is $7 to
the show. That isn't an awful lot of money overall to get to see tons
of gears and boats and buy at a show discount. And it is entertaining.

One highlight are the lectures to be given by Greg Barton, the Olympic
kayak champ.  Olympic Experience and Training Tips, Saturday, 2:30 pm;
Forward Stroke Discussion and Demo, Sunday, 12:30 pm. You can also get
a chance to meet fellow group members from Atlantic Sea Kayakers (Debbie
Reeves) and Anorak (Gabriel Romeu, Ray Killen) among others.

Info about the show can be found at http://www.jerseypaddler.com

I plan to be there the entire time helping out at various booths
(Feathercraft, Atlantic Sea Kayakers, Anorak) and will be speaking
there on foldables, thank god not at the same time as Barton! (I'm on at
Sat 11:30 am; Sun, 2:30 pm).
