Paddlewisers...
Several weeks ago there was a thread about building your own alcohol
stove. I was in the group looking for one of these things so I offer the
following :

	0. the URL I started at is :
http://www.fulton-net.com/~sgraber/makestove.htm

	1. I have built several of the burner sections sized from a regular
sized pork&bean can ( this makes a jumbo heat source for boiling water
for pasta or rice ) down to a small 6 oz sized tomato paste can ( this
makes a cool ...well, make that 'hot' but neat, heat source for sauteing
veggies and sauce prep ).

	2. I did not use the stove-pot stand as described in the URL. Instead
I got a small loaf bread pan, cut 2 each 4"x4" squares from the bottom
of the pan at each end; punched some 1/4" holes on sides and ends to help
the thing breath; and turned it upside down and began cooking. This in
effect makes a 1 or 2-burner stove depending upon your immediate needs.
You would not want to cook for the whole tribe on this thing, but I have
used it on the last 2 weekends and it is sized just perfect for solo
cooking. It is very light in weight, very easy to use, and must be
fairly efficient. I have cooked 2 weekends worth of camping on apprx 15
ozs of denatured alcohol ...pretty decent chow I might add. No pumping,
priming, or noise, and a nice steady cooking heat. ...I like it !

...adieu ...Peyton (Louisiana)
