I'm new paddler about to buy a kayak. For my first
longer tour, I'm thinking about paddling from Bokeelia
to Cayo Costa. I've paddled around Cayo Costa, but
never from Bokeelia. I've made the trip several times
on the Tropic Star, and it seems like a do-able trip.

My concerns are mostly tides and boat traffic. I'll
probably be going in April. Any thoughts, advice or
suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

Steve

A friendly reminder that this is an international list. Not everyone is
familiar with where you are located and the popular areas in your region.
Letting us know where you are talking about makes it much more interesting.

Good point. My fault since I recommended Steve subscribe here because he
is a new paddler (I think this is a really good place for new paddlers) that
posted on GASP (Gulf Area Sea Paddlers... as in Gulf of Mexico). I forgot
to mention the above. Thanks for doing so :-)

Sorry, Steve.

Cheers,

Jackie (who has never heard of Cayo Costa, Bokeelia or the Tropic Star 8-}

hi,

i too don't know the way to Cayo Costa...
but for the finest in giant sea grapes, i guess there's no better place than
Bookeelia, Florida.
