How does the "mileage" compare on a Triangia vs. an MSR?

The Trangia needs a new rubber ring for the lid once in a while. If the
stove has been burning for long and has become hot it might go on
burning the alcohol vapour, and this heat will damage the rubber
seal. When i used a Trangia I allways carried a spare.
Apart from that it will last forever.

The Trangia wil boil 1 liter of water in 13 mins, and one liter of
alcohol(97% denatured ethanol) will boil 35 liters of water.
This compared with a MSR Whisperlite burning gas, where the
figures are 5 mins and 70 l.

Ther is an other swedish stove called Primus Himalaya (or MFS),
which will burn kerosene, parafin, gasoline, propane, alcohol
without rebuilding. Burning gasoline it should boil 1 liter water in 3
mins!
