They sell a PC cable, so you can download/upload data from/to PC. Some of the software packages doesn't support the transfer format, some other's work fine with the eTrex. I got that kind of information from sci.geo.satellite-nav , a usenet group. There are all the gps cracks and some of them might know the answer to more specific questions regarding compatibility.
