I think that the pump between the coaming and the spraydeck would not work
with my plastic single, but might on our glass double.

The pump down the body tube?? Normal dress for us starts with a polypro top,
farmer john and booties. Then the spraydeck, nylon, with a webbing waist
strap and elasticised adjustment at the top of the tube (chest level). Over
this goes a paddle jacket (with a neck seal), down to waist level, followed
by a firmly zipped and strapped PFD.

There ain't no way in hell you could ever slide a pump through that lot!

Sounds like an electric pump is the better option (or staying upright).
