Did you ever get a satisfactory answer about your Mako Saddles? It seems to me that the key is to space the saddles so that their outside edges line up with the chines of the boat, rather than have the chine hit the middle of the saddle. That way the saddle has a nice firm contact with a _flat_ surface and the strap goes around the next chine and over the hull. But then again, I have the old TLC saddles and a rounded boat, so what do I know? [I've been spending a little time at www.malvik.net, BTW, trying to decide if I should consider a CLC kit for my next boat. Do I have the time? Will I screw up? Wouldn't I rather spend time paddling than woodworking? You're site makes it look pretty doable...] Good luck, Jason ---------------------------------------------- Jason Taylor R. C.
