When I was at pool practice on Sunday night, I tried paddling with the paddle upside-down. It was incredibly difficult, especially considering that the paddler and kayak were also upside-down. Anybody else ever try this? I was wearing a dive mask so I could see my paddle blades, but I couldn't decide whether it was more confusing to watch, or to try to propel myself upside down with my eyes closed. Paddling upside-down probably contributes to little skill building, other than making one more comfortable hanging out "down there".
