I checked with a BCU Coach and Assessor regarding the issue of using or not
using a paddle as an assist to entering or exiting a kayak.  And the answer is:
you can enter and exit the kayak using the paddle as an assist OR you can enter
or exit without the paddle. Bottom line is the BCU assessors do not care!!!  It
was not clear why the statements are made in the web posting PDF's.
