Oh boy-another facet of kayaking I have "lost track of..." <g>  Can't even 
remember what type of foot pegs I have...

         The options you fellas have offered do sound very workable 
however!  I'll have to put, "further consideration of a new pedal system" 
on my wish list.  Thank you all...
