I was about to order the etrex yesterday because I can't find anything cheaper, waterproofer and more suitable for kayaking as far as I can tell. But then I stumbled on Garmins German homepage across the info, that eTrex has NO internal backup battery. Can anybody comment on that please? Does that mean that I'll loose all stored info like trip data and waypoints if I need to change batteries along the trip? Or does the eTrex use some sans-battery buffering mechnismen that protects data for a couple of minutes. Secondly: Can anybody recommend a really cheap source for etrex (by private mail).
