As I remember it, the original thought was for a general PW get-together. It quickly became apparant that that wasn't going to happen, but some people indicated interest in more regional get-togetheers - shorter traveling distances, etc. The East Coast group picked it up and ran with it. I sort of thought there would be other get togethers, in the Midwest, California, Washington, where ever. Also, no one said this get together was ONLY for east coast paddlers - everyone is invited; it just didn't (and doesn't) seem likely that anyone else was going to make the trip. In fact, It doesn't look like all that many from the East Coast are planning to make the trip, though those of us that do get together can expect to have a great time. But anyone else who wants to come is welcome; we have plenty of room. I would like to see periodic get togethers in different areas, so that whoever is free at a particular time, or close enough, or wants to badly enough, can go. It just takes indivduals to say, "hey, let's do this here and now." The tee shirts are a great idea. I would think that anyone on the list might be interested - not just people who are coming to the NY get together. My 2 cts.
