Hi Sandy - nice to hear thar you will be over here later this month. Since I live 2,5 hrs south of Baden-Baden here´s my two penny of advice: Best way from Dusseldorf to Baden-Baden will be by train. As soon as you give me date of arival I could check out when trains leave for Baden-Baden and how much ticket are. Talking about tulips: How about visiting the Mainau - an island in Lake of Constance - known for early blooming. There should be lots of tulips, though not fields (and lots of water around 8-). Water temp. at the moment is 5°C in 1 meter depth, air temps 15°C but changing up and down (marvellous sunshine, slight haze at the moment). Yesterday afternoon I went approx 20 kms from Konstanz (Lake of Constance) home to where I live. It was a nice and quiet trip - at the start the snowy peaks of the Alps were in sight, later saw lots of birds (of which I dont know the english name: Heringsmöwen, roter Milan, Braungänse) and met some kayakers, too - but still not too much at this time of the year: only hardcore-paddlers are on the water. You could even rent a kayak at Kai Oberacks "La Canoa" in Konstanz. Any other questions? You can get train schedules for most of Europe there. I am sure there are some other sources as well. Viel Glück! -Patrick *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************
