This is a funny thread. I have a 17 foot Mad River canoe and have taken my dog Max, a Golden Retriever, paddling in it plenty of times. He often jumps out, and getting him back in can be a bit of a challenge. But he loves the water so much, he can be hard to control when around it. Three years ago I bought a WS Pungo so I would have a "kayak" that I could paddle with him. He sits in front of me in the Pungo and seems quite content. Obviously, neither of these options is good for anything except a few feet from a safe shoreline. But still it can be fun, for "family" trips.
