Anyone read either or both who can provide a recomendation/review? P.S. I have Hutchenson's COMPLETE BOOK OF SEA KAYAKING and found the illustrations in the rolling chapter to be somewhat unclear.

How about: Dutky's is better, but Hutchenson's more complete?

Dutky's has only a few rolls in it, but they are much better explained
and his illustrations are easier to follow. Hutchenson's has more
variations on rolls and more anecdotal stuff about rolling, making it
an interesting read. However, some of his explanations are difficult
to comprehend and his illustrations can be confusing.

I'd say get Dutky's to learn how to roll and get Hutchenson's to
extend your rolling repertoire.
