Ralph, Bill, other interested folks..... So: This is the sense I make of things so far. Day 1 (Saturday). Put in at the Downtown Boathouse, on the water at 11. Ralph kindly sent directions (at least location) on Wednesday (yesterday). This will be a Statue of Liberty paddle, to be followed eventually by dinner in the early evening. The details for this day seem fleshed out well enough. Day 2 (Sunday). Put in at West Point and paddle south. Thanks again to Ralph for directions to the put in. What had not been settled in the previous post was a meeting time. Joan consulted her tide chart, and then with Ralph, and the consensus was another 11 AM launch. So figure to arrive at the put-in between 10 and 10:30, depending on your preferred rate of gearing up mixed with schmoozing. We plan to follow up the day's paddle with a barbecue at our house, just east of Peekskill. We have a few beds and a lawn behind the house for those who would like to stay over. Pancakes or omelets for breakfast? Day 3 (Monday) is the City Island paddle, beginning at an Orchard Beach put in. Gracias again to Ralph for the directions. Also an 11 o:clock launch, right?
