The eTrex GPS does not come with an advanced manual. For those that have this

GPS, are you able to get a "bearing" to display on the screen in a GOTO mode?

Can the LAT/LON be displayed on one of the four initial screens, or does it
require going deeper within the screens?

Thanks,

Arlene

See *http://www.garmin.com/manuals/etrex_ad.pdf* for a downloadable 40 page "advanced manual" for the eTrex.

Unfortunately Garmin no longer publishes the advanced manual, they combined it with the basic manual. I
downloaded the new owners manual and found that it really isn't as good as the old advanced manual. I still
have my hard copy of the advanced manual, but lost the PDF file. If anyone still has the PDF file for the
advanced manual there are probably a couple people who would really like a copy.

The new owners manual (replaces the advanced users guide) can be down loaded from
the following link;
http://garmin.com/products/etrex/manual.html

In answer to your questions, yes. On the pointer page if you hit the up or down
keys you will scroll through the options at the bottom of the screen. Your
lat/lon, bearing, heading, speed, distance, sunrise, sunset, and elevation
(useless) are all there.
For instance, the main boat ramp for Massabesic Lake is on a bearing of 285
magnetic from my back yard. Now that you know how to get there from here I'll
tell you how to get here, if you really want me to! :-)
