Nigel Dennis Kayaks, NDK is the manufacturer. Romany is the model. My wife (another small paddler) liked this boat too. She paddled one for a two day sea kayak workshop. I paddled it's larger brother, the Romany Explorer, those same two days and liked it enough that I ordered one this spring (I pick it up in two weeks, I'm excited).

>Shadow - liked this one, too

My wife has this in plastic and likes it. It fits her well and paddles nicely. I can squeeze my 6' 0" 190 pound body into it and found it nice to paddle.

>Looksha IVS - very tippy

I've got a plastic Looksha IV and really like it. It is very easy to stand it on its side. Spent last Sunday playing in 1 - 1.5 foot waves on a lake playing in my Looksha. Practiced paddling into, with, at an angle and across the waves. The boat does well in almost all of these. Heading with the waves it has a small tendancy to broach but is controllable.

Since you're in Seattle you should head down to the Mariner kayak store and try one of their boats. I'm going to be in Seattle for a week in late June and trying out their boats is at the top of my list. :)
