Walt, I carry loads of photographic nonsense on my kayak and I carry much of it in a Pelican case design for a company called LowePro. It's called an "Omni Sport" and comes in, I think, three sizes the smallest of which fits nicely on the rear deck. LowePro's (Pelican) small case contains a padded camera bag with waist belt and shoulder strap and has enough room for camera, flash, lens, film & more. The largest of these cases, is luggage sized and also contains a padded camera 'suitcase' but is too large for any kayak I might want to paddle. Like all Pelican cases, they're water proof if handled with any reasonable care, and the internal camera bags give them added advantage when you turn back into a bi-ped. If I could get Matt or John Winters to add something to the larger case in order to give it some directional stability, I might even try to paddle it as a sit-on-top when I'm just out for pic's! BTW Joan, I'll finally be settled in Virginia as of Friday.
