I will be going "off list "until early September.....driving home (WY) tomorrow from Baltimore, then a turbo-repacking and driving North to Yellowknife NWT for a bush plane flight to the central Canadian Arctic coast... we will be paddling an open canoe down the Hiukitak River to the east shore of Bathurst Inlet, then circumnavigating as much of Bathurst Inlet as weather permits until the 3rd week of August. We hope to cover a lot of the area that Hood and Franklin covered in the 1820's, before retreating south at Point Turn Again. We hope to have a better time, though! Over the last 9 months I have enjoyed many of the discussions here at Paddlewise...and learned a lot related to safety and enjoyment of our wet World and hope to post an worthwhile trip report for Paddlewise in September when we return to the States. I have enjoyed being part of the "Paddlewisers" , maybe next year we will be able to make the leap to seakayaking!
