OK, thanks, this actually answered some questions I didn't just come out and ask. I don't have a Nautiraid. I'm building a kayak from Blandford plans but substituted aluminum channel for a connector joint which would normally be a five inch length of wood with a brass strap in the middle. I'm planning on having the aluminum anodized with a brass color to match the brass in the rest of the boat. Since I read the Nautiraid uses brass channel I thought this might be interesting to look at. The stringers and gunwales are in place, but I haven't completed what little connections that its supposed to have. The stringers like to pop out of the grooves, so I suppose maybe I'll try the tab idea. I bought a used Klepper, but it's of no help for comparison's sake, two different animals.
