I used some West Graphite Powder on my Pygmy bulkhead project. I coated the
glass lay-up where it would engage the rubber seals with epoxy/graphite. The
result was a fairly hard coating that sanded pretty smooth.

Sanding was messy. Wet sanded, it left a trail of blackened water. It was
pretty easy to wash up.

i am happy with the result: a good seal around the bulkhead flanges.

This mixture reminds me of the graphite racing hull paint of the early 70s.
One brushed it on the bottom of one's dinghy along with the centerboard and
rudder. Then, one could block sand and get a really sweet bottom. Pretty
soft, but easy to smooth up.
