before forwarding ANY message like this, no matter how greta it appears is
bad ettiquette, and is is also BOGUS, as in HOAX. one of the best
"debunking" websites is http://www.snopes.com they have a "crude" search
engine, and just the key words "gas boycott" will give you the low down.
in the last year i have received 20-25 "well intentioned" _warnings_ ---
and all but one was a hoax, as this one was ...

http://www.snopes.com - i have NO affiliation, but love the site...

http://www.urbanlegends.com [i think? dot org??] have heard good about it
     but no experience...

Maybe I look at it differently but shouldn't we be encouraging Gas
(or Petrol ) prices to go up rather than down. This way people would be more
inclined to walk, ride a bicycle, or paddle a kayak instead of driving a car

Yes, if the increase is a tax that would go to public transportation. No if the increase is just additional oil company profit.

Thank you David, I couldn't agree more. We pay unrealistically low gas
prices, and so many drive around in huge, gas guzzling SUVs to go
grocery shopping (I see this every day, as most of my neighbors drive
these environmental nightmares). Just crazy. The *actual* price we
(and the rest of the world) pay for our gas being so cheap is
staggering. The natural world we as paddlers love so much suffers
greatly every time we think of our money before we consider our planet.
