Since the primary goal of this website is to enable people of disability to enjoy mobility in and near the water, they have designed a wheelchair that can be used in the water. I noted in the website that they also have cushions for the chairs, which one would imagine they would hold up well in the water & since they custom make their products, perhaps it would be a resource to check out. You stated you tried the gel pads but there is also a product on the market that is called Bye-Bye-Decubite. It is stated to surpass the gel product cushions. Dual-Valve, Pediatric & Sports BBD's so a wide selection of bum sizes.... There is a magazine out called Sports 'n Spokes that is geared towards people of disability however one might note that if the products/ideas in there enable us of disability freedom to enjoy sports of all walks of life. A products that is available for comfort of folks who are fairly immobile would surely ease discomfort with the kayak seats. Having gotten hooked on kayaking, I am seriously eyeballing the Sports BBD for when I bring my NightHawk home since I have the problem of almostnohineyitis.
