May have been Atlanta Kayakers http://atlkayakers.home.mindspring.com/kayak/ They say: "[We are] A loosely knit group of people who happen to share an interest and for some of us expertise in kayak paddling. Some of us whitewater but the main focus of Atlanta Kayakers is Sea Kayaking. So far, there is no formal chain of command or organization. We have no plans in the immediate future to change that, however we will try to remain open minded." And it's true. There are no officers, just a coordinator who emails members about common adventurer paddles in the GA/SC/NC area. I have conducted training programs for (with? amongst? near?) them, and for at least one clinic the reg fee was a dish for a potluck lunch and a beer for the instructor.
