[Paddlewise] PFDs & drowning

While watching the Discovery Channel series on storms and hurricanes, I was
shocked to learn that the victims lived right on the beach but didn't own a
single life jacket!  You don't have to be a boater to need one - a good storm
surge and water is in your living room.  It is sad that families living on the
beaches could've saved their loved ones had they put "water = PFD" together.  In
my opinion, anyone who lives adjacent to a river or body of water should have
'em.  It is part of protecting your family.
