I once pulled into a small town in Spain and asked about accomodations. Told the fellow I was looking for an economy room. He said "I'm on duty at the morgue. You can sack out there if you like." Put my sleeping bag on the marble slab and had a good sleep. That was one of the more unusual places I've "camped." Sounds a bit like Merijn's experience.
