I've taken the opposite tack -- I got low power (because kayaks aren't sufficiently stable for me to use high power) and moderate size (because I don't want three pounds on my deck) and cheap / replaceable (because salt water is cruel and the prospects of theft or loss in the sea are high). I spent $27 on 7x35 Minolta binocs at the REI clearance center. They are great, considering the price, and if they last only 2 or 3 years so be it. jerry. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced/forwarded outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: PaddleWise_at_PaddleWise.net Subscriptions: PaddleWise-request_at_PaddleWise.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Thu Jul 20 2000 - 12:02:43 PDT
