My dear Mr Oetjen,
    As someone who has had much too much of my life's energy wasted by people 
with opinions that they felt should be shared by all beings, I urge you to 
spare us the sermon and deliver your comments directly to the person that you 
feel has slighted your cause.  This is not the appropriate forum for your 
previous post. Some of the list member actually subscribe to talk and read 
about paddling (canoe and kayak) issues. Personal attacks, in the guise of 
(not so) friendly advise are not going to further your cause, but rather will 
only serve to diminish the value of your posts.

To the rest of paddlewise.
    I threw out my first 3 drafts of this post and the post I planned to send 
to Mr Oetjen directly. I threw them out because I felt myself being sucked 
into a pitiful a valueless exchange.  Please stay cognizant of the fact that 
this is an informal text based medium. All of the nuances of normal person to 
person discourse are eliminated. It serves no worthwhile purpose to dissect 
each other's posts. One the other hand, frank open discussion that allows 
people to speak using their normal day to day language will make us all the 
richer.
