My dad and I recently paddled sweep on a day trip down the Kansas river in his Wenonah Adirondack (BTW, a great canoe). The group included about 5 canoes paddled by girl scouts. While their troop leader is an excellent paddler the girls had very little experience or instruction. Needless to say by the end of the day I'm certain that some of them had paddled twice as far as we had. :)

This meant that my dad I just floated with the current most of the day, occasionally paddled forward, and sometimes held our place. We took the time to watch the shore, talk, and enjoy the outdoors. Made for a fun, easy day.

There are three types of people, those who can count and those who can't.
