A friend of mine lost his Pygmy triple, after a 2 week long trip around British Columbia with the boat tied to the top of the van with those black rubber bungies. Bad idea, don't ever use those things! It came off the top within a mile of home. It was banged and scraped, all 3 cockpit rims got ripped off, and the 3/8" stainless steel rudder pin was bent and the rudder torns off. No structural damage to the hull!!!!! I am not sure if he had it tied down bow and stern or not. I suspect those wood boats are so pretty, no one has the heart to see how tough they are.
