I don't expect to use it, but I am trying to put together a compact rivet
repair kit which I can tuck into a cranny of my Folbot Greenland II double
kayak. Here is what I think I need:

1. A couple dozen 3/16 inch D poprivets (got those).

2. A compact poprivet tool (don't have this yet; any recommendations?).

3. A compact hand-operated drill for a 3/16 inch bit -- for drilling out old
rivets and making holes for replacements. Tried using a drill chuck I had
around, but hand twisting the bit with it is not going to cut it.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

Thanks.

You might want to cut the handles down on a cheap one and use pliers as the
leverage if you need it. I haven't ever seen a compact one though.

Have you ever seen the old PUSH stile spring loaded screw
drivers/drills. They have a chuck attached to a grooved shaft that rides
in and out of the handle as you push it up and down. There is a slider
switch that you can move forward/backward (up/down) to get the thing to
change directions. They actually drill pretty good. I have had ones the
size of a standard screw driver and ones the size of a giant one. Don't
know where to pick one up, but maybe Home Depot.
