If you're willing to take up the challenge of "real" WW paddling and ready to give up training wheels (two blades) you might want to look at an WW OC-1. Plenty of performance for aggressive playboating and yet lots of room for gear on a self-supported trip. (plus it's easy to shove your buddy in that tiny little kayak out of the eddy when he doesn't leave room for you) Just be ready for hearing things like "the barge" and being asked to stow gear for your kayaking friends.
