[Paddlewise] Hull designed to punch through waves

Hi Y'all,

I went paddling in some big breaking waves for the first time since we got
our Wilderness Systems Cape Horns. I was very pleasantly pleased with their
performance. I had an unusually big wave crash on me at one point while
going out throught the surf. My timing/luck couldn't have been worse. I
figured it was a certain back-ender, but it didn't happen. Instead, the
boat punched through it! I came up on top of the wave on the ocean side
with my stern just barely sticking over the wave. I tried it a couple more
times to see if that was normal for this hull design. Evidently it is. A
Sea Lion would have been eaten up in a wave like that.

I'm guessing that the bow design, Greenlandish, was designed, at least
partially, for this very thing. Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Dave
