I use a small dry bag, which is normally stuffed with my "emergency" dry clothing for use if I get stuck somewhere while paddling on a day trip, and slide a 100-weight fleece top over it for a pillow slip. This makes for a **very** firm pillow, perhaps not what most people want. The main advantage is that nothing extra is needed, and it is a unit that never gets disturbed under normal circumstances. What's in my "emergency" dry clothes bag? Glad you asked: fleece top, fleece pants (both 100 weight), rain pants, fleece hat, and a bug hat. Do not need rain jacket, 'cause my paddle jacket is waterproof. Do not need a rain hat, 'cause that's in the cockpit, also. -- Dave Kruger Astoria, OR *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced/forwarded outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: PaddleWise_at_PaddleWise.net Subscriptions: PaddleWise-request_at_PaddleWise.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Mon Aug 14 2000 - 14:39:35 PDT
