The bulkhead is ABS plastic and is reasonably strong, though too flexible to be used to mount a pump in the middle. The glue that holds it is tough - I know, I've ripped out the bulkhead in my GTH and replaced it with okoume/fiberglass. It was a lot of work to remove! So, you could probably put a piece of epoxy- or varnish-covered (for waterproofing) plywood against the bulkhead on the cockpit side and use it to stiffen the bulkhead. I don't think the glue would let go - YMMV. Fiberglass covered plywood would be stiffer for a given thickness. Bolt the pump mount right through both layers.
