I recently completed a strip-built kayak (Nantucket) designed by John Winters armed with the design, some advice from John, and Nick Schade's book. The entire process took about a year but it was an easy year and very, very enjoyable. I have minimal woodworking skills but the boat turned out almost too beautiful to use. I am very pleased with the results and would build another in a heartbeat.
