Actually I think the problem is that Sea Kayak is sort of a misnomer. (It is just a touring boat for say water with ample room to maneuver:=) WW-kayaks are also used on the sea in the surf, but will not be called sea kayaks then? Some touring boats can also be used on some white water, maybe need a bit different technique. Personally I prefer a maneuverable touring canoe for whitewater, (not to wild and narrow I admit) because I do not like the way most white water canoes (that I know) behave. Because of this, I think I understand why someone paddles some white water with a 'sea kayak'.
