Hello P´Wisenheimers!

I found a book about the first crossing of the Greenland Inland
Ice (by skis, it was 1888 or something) by F. Nansen (Norwegian, a
group of 4 Norwegians & 2 Lapps), which is illustrated. It was
translated into English first during the1890´s, this is a 1906
edition. Price was something around USD 50!

Nice reading, really, though Mr. Nansen is not really politically
correct towards the Lapps & the Aboriginals. After the crossing
they stayed through the winter months at the western coast, and,
among other things, learned kayaking. Drawn and engraved
illustrations after the photographs are quite nice :-)

Anyone else familiar with the book? I wonder if there are present,
new editions...
