Hi Pamela,
I paddle the Mass/NH/Maine coasts. I have and use HydroSkins for summer
north of the cape and on inland lakes and into the spring/fall seasons south
of the cape. But winter water temps really indicate drysuits. Heavy neoprene
will work in a pinch but the drysuits are much preferred.
That being said, I did paddle through most of last winter with HydroSkinz
and a drytop, contrary to common sense. I have a very reliable roll, but in
retrospect, I consider winter paddling in HydroSkinz, at least in the NE a
foolhardy prospect.

Good Luck,
Jed

PS A good source of information relative to paddling in Mass and waters
north is North Shore Paddlers Network _at_ NSPN.org
