I have organized similar trips in the past for scuba divers. We used to call them "Cyberdives". My suggestion would be a paddle in the Everglades, either the Loxahatchee reserve canoe trail and/or the Loxahatchee river, an almost prehistoric old Florida paddle, but not suited for a seayak. Then a meander down to Key Largo (a 3 +- hour drive) and paddle in Florida Bay, possibly over to the Everglades Park. Water temperatures will be in the low 70s and air should be about the same. It's always possible to get some blustery weather caused by regular fronts moving through, but there's enough flat water around to suite almost all weather conditions. I don't know the Keys all that well from a paddling perspective, but Florida Bay Outfitters, and also Waterways Kayaks will be available for rentals. Waterways is located next to Ft. Lauderdale Airport, probably the most convenient port of entry. cya *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced/forwarded outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: PaddleWise_at_PaddleWise.net Subscriptions: PaddleWise-request_at_PaddleWise.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Thu Aug 31 2000 - 15:32:57 PDT
