Scott, Since I am still believing my E-Trex is (mostly) waterproof, I am putting it in a small map case which has "D" rings allowing me to attach it to the first shock cord on my deck and then flop it onto my skirt while paddling. The map case was designed to lay flat but it is (just) big enough for me to manipulate the side buttons. The map case sells for $9 (less the club discount).
