Normally SV or MV are written and " Sailing Vessel"- "Motor Vessel" are
used over the radio, because they are clearer. Letters are usually referred
to as "Alpha" "Victor" "Romeo" etc. Of course near shore you may sometimes
find a "come back good buddy" (rather than "over".

Subject: [Paddlewise] SV and MV Prefaces For Sailing and Motor Vessel Names
make using the preface KV a logical if not immediately understood station
name. Therefore, my question is: Are the prefaces SV and MV a widely used
convention?
