I just got bursitis in left elbow for 1st time a month ago. I don't know if it was due to paddling which I just started doing this year. I did not bang my elbow that I can remember. There was no pain but it swelled up like a partial ball 1/2" high. A doctor drained it, but it came back within days. I was scheduled to see the doc again 2 weeks later for another draining and a shot of cortisone, but in the meantime I went kayak surfing. I got slammed into the beach on my elbow. Later that day the bursitis was gone. I apparently burst the sac. There was no pain except for that associated with the bruise of slamming my elbow. It has not come back. Therefore, I have to recommend kayak surfing for bursitis. Tom Dowling, who is responding so slowly due to home phone connection being out for 6 weeks. 12 Jun 2000 12:00. The problem went away over the winter, but the pain has returned now that I am paddling regularly again. I would hate to think that this condition will make stop paddling. Anyone out there dealt with paddling induced bursitis in a way that did require you to give up paddling for lengthy time? *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced/forwarded outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: PaddleWise_at_PaddleWise.net Subscriptions: PaddleWise-request_at_PaddleWise.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************
