I took my Cobra Expedition to Cobra today re the leaking venturi. Clinton
showed me where a rock or pebble had lodged and broke the seal. He replace
the baler without any problem. He, and I assume the owner of the company who
joined him, added some additional attachments for tiedowns and even put the
hold down shockcord in for me on the front and an additional hold down in the
rear for more tiedowns, if needed. When we talked about the problem of using
the baler with a full load and lots of draft I suggested a way of putting in a
pump. Wella!!!! A foot operated pump appeared that attaches to the rudder
control bar that can drain the cockpit without having to stop paddling.

While there I watched several boats being made and the care given each one.

As I left Clinton gave me extra rivets should any of the venturi rivets should
come loose and a supply of the rubber gastket material used for the O rings on
the hatches plus handles to attach for lifting the boat from the center of
gravity. The offer was made that if I were to design a skirt for boat they
would construct and install it at no charge.

Overall this was a very positive experience. I was really impressed with the
way the entire thing was handled. This is a specialized SOT and there are not
that many around. I am satisfied with the boat and more than satisfied with
tye type of service supplied by Cobra. They told me that they welcome
feedback, both positive and negative, in order to provide a better product.

I think this should answer anybody's questions as to the quality of the
finished product, the warranty service and the desire of the manufacturer to
satisfy the purchaser.

Any questions?

Mike Brown

PS They didn't pay met for this notice. I have spoken to several kayakers
about the problems and I thought I should tell everybody the result. Good
folk at Cobra!
