This just goes to show how vital sharks are to the ecology, culling the weak
and infirm. This was reported to be a 8-9 foot Bull Shark (Zambezi). They
are terrified of kayaks and hate the taste of tourists. It is unusual to
find them in the Intracoastal, which is brackish water, but Bulls are known
for their tolerance of brackish water.

There have only been 25 shark attacks this year.

Retiree Thadeus Kubinski, 69, was swimming with his wife
Wednesday when he was attacked in five-foot-deep waters off their
dock in Boca Ciega Bay, off the Gulf of Mexico near Tampa.
