When I was a kid, I used to think that people were crazy to take off to Florida every winter when they retired. The older I get, the more sense it makes. I'm a big fan of winter -- until after the holiday season. Then, everything is frozen up, there's no paddling (except in Florida) and I'm counting the days until ice out.
